Lettera di Shaun Baker alla Valsesia
From: Shaun Baker.
Guinness World Record holder (x4) for whitewater and waterfalls.
For me, Valsesia is one of the world’s most beautiful regions. Almost untouched by time, this Alpine oasis lives on as a symbol of man living in harmony with nature. I have spent many occasions battling with the ferocious whitewater of its valleys and at the end of each day feeling honored to have been allowed to survive.
In this world, rivers such as the Sesia are truly “few and far between”, and thus attract lovers of whitewater and the outdoors from hundreds, if not thousands, of miles around. Even if only visited once in a lifetime, Valsesia quickly establishes memories both of the awesome power of nature and the tranquility of an environment and rivers offering something for everyone… A magical area that has done nothing to deserve it’s own destruction.
Some things are best left untouched… When we are dead and gone, let us leave this for our children.
